Applications for 2024/2025 are now closed.
As part of Arts Habitat’s commitment to providing affordable, appropriate, and sustainable creative space, applications are now open for the 2024/2025 ArtsHub McLuhan House Garage Studio Program.
Since 2016, Arts Habitat has sponsored this annual program offering one artist or artist collective access to the 540-square-foot ArtsHub McLuhan House Garage Studio in the Highlands community. Sponsored Artists have full-time, private access to this working space for a calendar year at no charge.
Edmonton-based individual artists and collectives are encouraged to submit a project proposal to develop work-in-progress and original works in the studio during the program period.
The program encourages submissions from local artists of all disciplines including, but not limited to, visual arts, crafts, multi-disciplinary practice, dance, design, new media, performance, photography, sculpture, sound, video, and writing.
The adjudication process will emphasize submissions with a strong project proposal and the potential to succeed in producing artwork in the available space/time. A demonstrated history of self-directed creation and presentation is required.
A minimum of two exhibitions or open houses to showcase work throughout the term of the program is supported. These events and open houses are at the discretion of the successful applicant, and they will be promoted by Arts Habitat.
Applicants will be notified in early June with the ArtsHub McLuhan House Garage Studio Program proposed to begin July 1, 2024, ending June 30, 2025. Please visit Arts Habitat Edmonton and the Garage Studio Program Past Residents page for more information or email rnigam@artshab.com.
