Monday Musing – Goals, Planning, and Forging Ahead.
“A goal without a plan is just a wish.”
Like many organizations, Arts Habitat spent time in 2019, setting goals and objectives and planning for future successes. We found it helpful to look at our past year to truly understand where to focus our future. We had the pleasure of building new partnerships that allowed us to share our knowledge and expertise. Through our work with others in the community, we continued to advocate for purpose-built arts spaces. Arts Habitat values the role we play in being a part of the decision-making process for arts space development in Edmonton, and we are thankful for the opportunities we had in the last year and work to build upon these in the future.
We remain focused on achieving long-term impacts and looking for ways to create a legacy of arts spaces for Edmontonians for generations to come. By building strong relationships with community, government, business, and other non-profits, we are proud to champion for arts expression and experience, which are essential for a healthy community. We believe in collaboration that will create sustainability and inclusion for the arts. Dynamic, sustainable, and entrepreneurial artists communities in Edmonton will add to the vibrancy of our beautiful City. All of which need space that is accessible and appropriate.
As the work on our goals and objectives outlined in our 2019-2022 Strategic Plan progresses, our commitment to achieving our vision and mission remains strong. We know the foundation we lay today will increase our successes well into tomorrow. We proactively look for ways to ensure our vision, mission, and mandate are an integral part of the City’s vitality, identity, and pride. Projects don’t magically happen and require a considerable undertaking, and by creating a climate that is conducive to new ideas and action, Arts Habitat ensures key priorities that are essential are realized.
While this is the final musing for 2019, we look forward to sharing more with you in the new year. Happy holidays to all and best wishes as we turn the page on another year.
